Places to visit
The Best Fall Activities For Toddlers
I’m starting this list with all of the places we will surely visit this Fall. Because I want to make this a memorable season for the family, I had to include experiences that they will be able to enjoy outdoors in the cooler temperature.
– Petting Zoo
You probably don’t know this, but one of my dreams in life is to own a farm. There’s something so amazing about the thought of living in nature, surrounded by animals and plantations!
So of course I would include a petting zoo as a fall outdoor activity for my toddlers!
If you are in the Atlanta area, I definitely recommend the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary! They have so many amazing animals for kids to pet, feed, and observe! We have been there earlier this year and my toddler speaks of it to this day. She was amazed by all the farm animals she got to pet, feed, and watch roam freely. We will definitely be back when the weather is cooler!
– Pumpkin Patch
Of course, this is a classic. If you have kids (or even if you don’t), you can’t skip a visit to the Pumpkin Patch. The memories kids create visiting a pumpkin farm are unlike anything else!
Have you ever notice how many songs there are with lyrics that talk about visiting a pumpkin patch during childhood? That’s because those memories stick with us for years and years to come.
I, for one, don’t have those memories, since I came from Brazil and we don’t really do the whole “Fall thing” there. But it’s never too late, so I’m creating those memories now!
Not to mention… the family pictures you can take at a Pumpkin Patch are the most beautiful I’ve seen!
– Fall Folliage Sight-Seeing
One of the things I love the most about Fall is its colors. I mean… who doesn’t?
I never really had this growing up. In Rio, we joke that we only have two seasons: unbearably hot and moderately warm. I never got to see the true fall colors until I moved to the States in 2015.
So of course, seeing the foliage is something I must do every year. And it’s even more special now that we get to bring the kids along.
In Georgia, my favorite places to visit to see the fall foliages are Amicalola Falls State Park and Tallulah Gorge State Park!
If you want to make the experience even better, you should definitely consider making it a weekend-long stay! You can find some amazing deals to enjoy a Fall weekend at VRBO! Click here to find the best spots!
Crafts
The Best Fall Activities For Toddlers
Fall crafts for toddlers are just so much fun! The idea is to use items found in nature, such as leaves, pine cones, and more. So much can be created by using simple items and a great deal of imagination!
– Thanksgiving Center Table Decor
I absolutely loved this idea by Fireflies and Mud Pies! This easy pine cone pumpkin is something toddlers can easily help with to decorate the Thanksgiving table.
It’s also fun to write the name and date on the bottom and keep it as a souvenir! I’m very big on keeping items to walk down memory lane in the years to come, so I’m excited to add this one to my collection!
– Fall Door Wreath
When I saw this on my good friend Siobhan’s blog, I immediately took note to do it with my toddlers!
This easy air dry fall door wreath is the perfect craft for young kids to participate in the autumn home decor!
She also has a list of all needed materials on her website which makes it even easier on us, busy moms. This is definitely on my list of crafts to do this fall!
– Pinecone Turkey
You tell me: how cute is this turkey craft?
The idea is to incorporate a photo holder on top and give it as fall gifts from the kids to the grandparents!
This easy pinecone turkey craft only needs construction paper, a pine cone, and googly eyes that you can find at the dollar store! You can check the full how-to and materials list at the Projects For Preschoolers website.
Toddler-friendly Recipes
The Best Fall Activities For Toddlers
If there is one thing I know my toddler loves to do, is help me cook.
So of course, I have to do some easy fall recipes for her to get creative with!
– Pumpkin Patch Marshmallow Bites
When I think of Fall, I immediately think of pumpkins.
Except… I dont like the taste of pumpkin. Please don’t come for me!
So whenever I find an amazing recipe that has the pumpkin visual without the actual taste of it, I jump on it as fast as I can!
And this is why I’m so happy I found this recipe from Kid Friendly Things To Do.
This absolutely beautiful fall treat is not only so fun to see, but also looks very yummy! I can’t wait to see my toddlers’ faces when we make this!
– Pumpkin Sandwich Cookies
Of course, cookies need to be included in my list!
These beyond-cute pumpkin cookie sandwiches are the best recipe to do with toddlers!
When I found this at Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt I immediately saved it on my bookmark. This easy recipe looks amazing and is super easy to do with my baking-obsessed girl!
– Easy Apple Crisp
I am drooling already at this recipe from Run Wild My Child.
This easy apple crisp will be the perfect sweet to do with my little helper. I can already see her having so much fun getting her hands dirty while tossing the apples and mixing the doh.
And I, for one, will have the time of my life eating it!
Free Fall Entertainment
The Best Fall Activities For Toddlers
When it comes to toddlers’ fun, we all know they do not need fancy!
Having space to roam and getting big smiles from mommy can totally make them as happy as can be. And these activities are the perfect example of that!
– Jumping On Leaves
Just like anything else, fall season is the perfect opportunity for some messy outdoor activities for our toddlers!
Have them rake some leaves into a pile, and have a great time jumping on them!
* Things to consider: keep a watchful eye while they rake leaves for any snake sights. Those beautiful but scary creatures love to hide in between leaves during the fall (and really, all year long). Never let your kid jump into a previously piled mountain of leaves without carefully checking for snakes, spiders, and other animals or insects first.
– Pine Cone Treasure Hunt!
I got this idea from my amazing mother-in-law. As a mom of 6 (yep, SIX!) kids, she always has the best free ideas for kids’ activities!
Having the toddlers go on a hunt for the biggest pine cone they can find will be so much fun!
You can also use the pine cones for some art time, paint them and create crafts!
How are you spending this Fall with your kids? Any one-of-a-kind activity you will do? Please, do share!
